RentWize guide
Rental shortlist
Save private rental links, compare advertised rent and review a selected address before tenancy setup.
Rental shortlist
Open Shortlist from the dashboard to keep private, user-entered rental candidates. You do not need an active tenancy or a paid subscription. The screen shows the current saved-record limit; this prelaunch limit is not a final plan allocation.
Use the search links to open realestate.com.au, Domain or REIWA. Enter your suburb, state and budget on that portal. RentWize does not fetch listings, check availability or verify agency details.
Save and compare
- Choose Add candidate.
- Enter an address or description and an HTTPS listing link.
- Optionally record advertised rent and its frequency, an agency booking link, inspection time and private notes.
- Select the Australian state or territory when recording an inspection time. Keep the agency's local time and confirm it with the agency.
- Save, then select candidates to compare their recorded facts.
Weekly equivalents are estimates: fortnightly rent divided by two, or monthly rent multiplied by twelve and divided by fifty-two. The original advertised amount and frequency remain visible. RentWize does not rank candidates.
Opening an inspection link does not book an inspection. Changing your status to applied does not submit an application. Book and apply directly through the portal or agency.
Open-home observations
Choose Record open-home notes for a standalone inspection associated with a saved candidate. Record the local inspection date, a fixed checklist and optional original photos. Selected candidates show their saved observations in comparison. See Open-home inspections for linking selected observations to a later tenancy.
Prepare an application
Choose Prepare application pack to attach a saved candidate reference to a private, self-authored renter resume and cover letter. Review each field and submit through the agency yourself. See Rental application pack.
Review before tenancy setup
Choose Set up this tenancy to open the existing setup form with the selected address and advertised rent. Review and confirm the actual tenancy details before submitting. A saved listing is not confirmation of a tenancy.
If you already have a current tenancy, use Moving home. Only the address carries into that form; enter the actual weekly rent yourself. Saving or comparing candidates never creates a tenancy or consumes a tenancy slot.
Edits and privacy
A removed or expired listing remains an editable record. If saving fails, your form stays open. Retry without closing it. If another session changed the record, reload saved candidates before editing again; reloading discards unsaved edits after confirmation.
Candidates are private to your account. They are included in your account data export and account deletion. Delete an individual candidate from Shortlist when you no longer need it. Its inspections become standalone records; their notes, photos and linked tenancy snapshots remain. Saved application snapshots remain unchanged. Reload an open inspection editor after deleting its candidate. Avoid putting login details or private access tokens in saved links.
