Open-home inspections

Keep private pre-application observations and original photos, then explicitly link selected records to a tenancy.

Open-home inspections

Open Open homes in the dashboard. You can record an inspection without an active tenancy or paid subscription. These observations are separate from formal entry and exit condition reports. The screen shows the current record cap; this prelaunch cap is not a final plan allocation.

Record what you observed

  1. Choose Add inspection. Optionally associate a saved shortlist candidate; choose Use selected candidate address to copy its address.
  2. Enter the inspected address and the local inspection date at that property.
  3. Use the fixed checklist: visible condition, visible signs of damp, fixtures, locks, heating and cooling, noise, and questions for the agent.
  4. Leave items as Not checked unless you choose Observation recorded. Neither choice means the item is satisfactory. Add factual observations and questions without assuming a building diagnosis.
  5. Optionally choose original image files, then save. The limit is ten photos per inspection and 10 MiB per photo, within existing account storage limits.

RentWize stores original photo bytes and their embedded metadata. It does not invent a capture time from the inspection date or upload time. Load original retrieves a temporary private link; View opens the original.

If saving fails, leave the form open and retry. Completed photo uploads are reused while the form stays open. If another session changed the inspection, reload saved inspections before editing again. Reloading discards unsaved edits after confirmation.

In Shortlist, select candidates to compare their saved observations alongside advertised rent and inspection details. RentWize does not rank candidates or diagnose property condition.

After you set up a tenancy, open a saved inspection and choose Link selected observations to a tenancy. Choose an existing writable tenancy and explicitly tick the observations or photos you want linked. Nothing is selected automatically.

Linking saves one snapshot with the original address and inspection date. Later edits to the inspection do not change that snapshot. Find it under the tenancy's Condition tab, separate from entry and exit reports. Linking does not create a tenancy, a formal condition report, or move-in evidence. One inspection can link to one tenancy.

Privacy and removal

Inspections and linked snapshots are private to your account and included in account data export and deletion. Deleting an inspection also removes its linked snapshot. Removing a photo from an inspection, cancelling after uploading, or deleting an inspection does not delete uploaded originals from account storage. Those originals remain subject to existing account storage limits until account-data deletion.

Deleting a shortlist candidate keeps its inspections as standalone records and preserves any linked tenancy snapshot. Reload an already open inspection editor after deleting its candidate.
