RentWize guide
Uploading Photos and Documents Safely
Choose what to upload to RentWize, what to avoid, and how to label files before using them in a dispute.
Uploading Photos and Documents Safely
Upload files that help explain what happened in your tenancy: dated photos, notices, receipts, condition reports, repair invoices, screenshots of relevant messages, and correspondence with your landlord or agent.
Upload only what the issue needs
Before uploading, ask whether the file helps prove:
- what happened
- when it happened
- who was involved
- what was said or sent
- what changed before and after the event
If the file does not help answer those questions, leave it out.
Do not upload sensitive files casually
Do not use Evidence Vault or support chat as a general storage place for:
- passports
- driver licences
- Medicare cards
- bank statements
- payslips
- tax files
- full evidence packs for unrelated disputes
- unrelated personal documents
If RentWize needs identity verification, use the dedicated verification flow. If support needs a file, wait for a secure upload path from a human support agent.
Label files clearly
Use names that make sense later, such as Kitchen ceiling leak - 4 April 2026 - before repair request. A useful label includes the room or issue, the date, and whether the file shows the before, after, notice, receipt, or reply.
Review before exporting
Before including files in a tribunal bundle or sharing them outside RentWize, remove duplicates, unrelated photos, and private information that does not help the issue.
